The Langham, Jakarta stands among Indonesia’s most exquisitely designed hotels. On the ground floor, a plush black tufted sofa rests beneath a soaring triple‑height window, its frame lined with fluted panels and softly illuminated by amber sconces. Across the polished marble floors, delicate brass inlays sketch graceful geometric patterns—a refined motif that echoes throughout the property, a signature of its timeless sophistication.

Overhead at the main entrance, hundreds of delicate leaf‑shaped accents in glass and burnished metal drift from a coffered ceiling on nearly invisible cables, shimmering as the light catches them. The spectacle continues above the sweeping marble grand stairway, its grey‑and‑gold veining streaked like natural brushstrokes, guiding guests upward in a flourish of artistry.

Accommodation
The Deluxe Skyline Room offers a serene retreat above the city. Timber flooring meets walls finished in crisp white panelling, while the headboard wall is softly upholstered in warm taupe. A drum-shaped pendant light glows gently from beneath a circular ceiling fixture, illuminating a grey bench with refined detailing at the foot of the bed, dressed in immaculate white linens. A marble-clad surround serves as both media console and mantel, displaying elegant black-and-white prints, a sculptural figure, and delicate glass spheres. In the corner, a round marble-topped table paired with two armchairs faces the window, with soft cove lighting running unseen along the glass edge to frame Jakarta’s skyline in gentle light.

An arched glass panel with sleek black framing connects the bedroom to the bath. Here, a veined marble vanity with gold-toned fixtures sits beneath a mirror trimmed in polished brass, while an oval freestanding tub rises on a matching plinth, filled by a graceful floor-mounted spout. The shower is lined in smooth marble slabs, with a built-in niche holding Langham toiletries and a handheld shower mounted on a gleaming gold rail.

Dining
The Langham Club, extends over exquisite wood flooring beneath brass-framed lantern chandeliers and a bright white coffered ceiling. Hexagonal tables with moss-stone centrepieces are positioned to take in sweeping views toward the distinctive ring roof of Gelora Bung Karno stadium. A welcoming sitting area groups a dove-grey sofa and high-backed wingbacks beneath a chandelier of faceted glass discs. At the marble service island — inset with antiqued mirror — fresh fruit, glass jars of sweet treats, and soft pink roses are beautifully arranged, while marble-lined shelves hold glass canisters of preserved vegetables.

A must‑try breakfast is the Bubur Ayam—comforting porridge topped with shredded chicken, salted vegetables, spring onions, and a hard‑boiled egg, accompanied by crackers, kicap manis, chili sauce, and a traditional Indonesian broth. For the best experience, mix it all together before enjoying. Come afternoon tea, glazed scones studded with dried fruit are served with condiments on a glass stand, alongside tall jars of crisp breadsticks. These delights pair beautifully with gourmet coffee and premium teas.

As evening unfolds, hearty dishes are kept warm for indulgence: savor the chicken cacciatore, slowly simmered in a rich tomato sauce with red, yellow, and green peppers, or delight in golden fried chicken—arguably the finest we have tasted in Jakarta—crowned with fresh rosemary and thyme. Each creation pairs seamlessly with a curated selection of cocktails, refreshing mocktails, and an array of fine beverages, both spirited and non‑alcoholic.

Facilities
The gym is bright and thoughtfully equipped: a padded wall organises weights, foam rollers, and training gear; kettlebells numbered 6 through 24 stand in perfect order; and an upright bike faces out toward the view. The steam room offers a soothing sanctuary, clad in horizontally banded travertine with a curved bench finished in soft grey-green mosaic. The indoor pool stretches out beneath a timber-beamed ceiling outlined in warm amber lighting. Its floor is laid in shimmering teal mosaic tiles; one side opens to tall windows, while the other is lined with loungers neatly made with rolled white towels.

Outdoors, the pace lightens further. A covered deck invites activity — table tennis, and nearby badminton, and archery — all set beside a lush lawn and living green walls. Here too, the infinity pool commands attention, its glass edge centerpiece by bold black steel ring that rises like a modern architectural portal against the sky.
