Arrival begins at a reception wall clad in timber panels, across which a cut‑paper mural unfurls in delicate white line work—Jakarta’s skyline, wayang puppets, sailing ships, and festival masks traced in graceful detail. Beyond, the lobby soars above grey‑veined stone walls accented with brass, its height lending a sense of grandeur. From here, a walkway leads directly into PIK Avenue Mall, making an evening stroll effortless and inviting.

Accommodation
Upstairs, the Swiss Grand Suite follows a curved wall of glass that keeps rooftops and towers in constant view. A grey sofa piled with terracotta cushions faces a wall light shaped like a constellation of glowing tubes, while an oversized drum pendant casts an amber glow across the serene expanse.

In the bedroom, a tufted headboard framed in timber rises behind white linen edged with slim grey borders, and a writing desk waits at the window, inviting quiet reflection. The bathroom pairs twin basins under backlit, black‑framed mirrors with a round, stone‑clad tub, offering a sanctuary of calm indulgence.

Dining
For those with access, mornings in the Executive Lounge start with the Japanese Set Menu, served on a slatted tray. It holds glossy teriyaki salmon dusted with sesame, a bowl of short-grain rice, miso soup with tofu and wakame, chicken gyoza, cucumber sunomono and a golden slice of tamagoyaki, each in its own small red bowl among many other gourmet selections. During the evening cocktails session, a spread of salads, charcuterie and cheeses are well paired with a shelf of wines and spirits alongside.

Downstairs, the Brownmilk 24 Hour Deli sign hangs above a marble-topped bar. Its pastry case holds the highly popular Bhajana, a chocolate dome topped with a ribbon-thin chocolate flower, and Les Fruit Cheese Cake, crowned with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, mango and an edible bloom.

The Chinese National turns dinner into theatre. A barrel-vaulted ceiling ribbed with light arches over globe lanterns in black frames, art deco lattice screens and stacks of blue-and-white porcelain. A citrus-crowned welcome drink arrives first, followed by recommended roast meats platter of char siew (barbecued pork) and sio bak (roasted pork belly) from the Cantonese-leaning kitchen.

Summers at The Pool swaps that drama for palms and flamingos, with a tiled feature wall, rattan chairs and a view of the garden. Its grill sends out a hanging tower of beef, lamb and chicken skewers beside grilled corn and Maranggi-style short ribs. The Signature Swissôtel Chocolate Cake closes the meal, topped with piped ganache rosettes and fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Absolutely delicious is the Truffle Smoked Duck Risotto, rich with earthy elegance.

Facilities
After your meals, there is plenty of room to unwind. The fitness centre has good views through the city-facing windows, with Technogym machines and a free-weights corner. The free-form pool loops around planters of leafy trees, hung with strings of bulb lights. In the sauna, honey-toned timber benches climb in tiers. Younger guests have a playroom with a miniature slide house, rocking horses and other engaging activities.
