Set in Jakarta’s Mega Kuningan district, JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta has long been a fixture of the city’s hospitality scene. For more than two decades, it has welcomed global travellers with gracious service and refined comfort. Its recent renovation brings a sleek, contemporary look while keeping the polished sophistication that defines its legacy.

Accommodation
The Premier Suite is a thoughtfully designed one-bedroom retreat that strikes a seamless balance between functionality and tranquillity. A soothing palette of warm oak finishes and soft neutral tones creates a calming sanctuary, offering a welcome contrast to the energy of the city beyond. The spacious living area is equally suited for productivity and relaxation, featuring a dedicated work desk, a comfortable sofa and armchair, and a marble-topped coffee table set atop a premium rug. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping city views while flooding the space with natural light throughout the day, enhancing the suite’s warm, contemporary ambience.

The bedroom centres on a plush king-size bed, elegantly framed by refined panelling and warm, layered lighting that lends the space a sense of comfort and sophistication from day to night. Beside it, a cosy sofa creates an inviting corner to unwind with a book, savour a leisurely morning coffee, or simply gaze out at the city skyline through the expansive windows. The bathroom takes on a more classic aesthetic, showcasing golden marble flooring, a striking black marble vanity, a deep soaking tub, and a separate glass-enclosed rain shower. Together, these thoughtful touches create a polished sanctuary that feels both indulgent and restorative, whether returning from a productive day of meetings or an afternoon exploring the city.

Suite guests enjoy access to the Executive Lounge on the 29th floor. It serves breakfast, afternoon tea (2.30–4.30 PM), evening cocktails (6.00–9.00 PM) and cheese and dessert (9.00–11.30 PM). Perks include two pieces of complimentary pressing per day, complimentary Wi-Fi and two hours of meeting-room use daily.

Dining
MAYA presents bold Indian flavours with elegance. The Cheesy Chicken Tikka arrives on a hot grill, smoky and char-grilled with a rich, melted finish. The Chicken Chettinad, a spiced Tamil Nadu classic, is slow-cooked for aromatic depth. It pairs well with the Choley Kulcha, a seeded kulcha served with spiced chickpea choley, raita and fresh salad. The Parda Biryani is sealed with dough and slow-cooked, and it is opened at the table to release the fragrant rice beneath. The Rasmalai Cake closes the meal, a lighter, modern take on a beloved dessert that is creamy and delicate, topped with pistachio and a butterfly tuile.

Pearl Chinese Restaurant serves refined Chinese cuisine in quiet surroundings. The Trio Truffle Dim Sum opens the meal with Xiao Long Bao, taro dumpling and crystal dumpling, each lifted by truffle. The Hot Combination brings Honey Pork Char Siew, Crispy Pork Belly and Duck Truffle, with the sweetness of the char siew set against the crackling skin of the pork belly. The Pork Stomach Soup is hearty and robust. The Homemade Spinach Tofu with Mushroom is a gentle, satisfying main. The Birthday Noodle and the Mango Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream bring the meal to a close.

Dinner at Asuka Japanese Dining was an omakase that traced Japan’s regional produce, with a map of sourcing regions printed in the menu. It began with Uni Chawanmushi, steamed egg custard topped with sea urchin. A chef’s selection of sashimi followed, served on ice with a smoking bamboo centrepiece. The Negima Soup of tuna belly was rich and warming. A5 Kagoshima Sukiyaki came next, then Kinki Shioyaki, grilled channel rockfish with Himalayan salt. Tairagai Butteryaki, pan-fried pen shell clam in butter sauce, followed. A selection of chef’s sushi and dessert brought the evening to a close.

Wellness/Facilities
The spa’s treatment rooms provide a serene setting for relaxation, with warm tones, soft lighting, and understated floral accents creating an immediate sense of calm. Standout treatments include the Heritage Signature Calm Massage, which combines Ayurvedic techniques with a soothing Dhara ritual, and the 60-minute Soothing Facial, ideal for rehydrating and reviving skin after travel. Beyond the treatment suites, guests can enjoy a comprehensive wellness area featuring a gym overlooking the pool deck, along with hot and cold plunge pools, jacuzzi jets, a sauna, and a steam room for complete restoration.

For those looking to stay active, the well-equipped JW Marriott Fitness Center offers everything needed for a rewarding workout, making it easy to offset the pleasures of the hotel’s exceptional dining options. Meanwhile, the outdoor pool presents a serene escape, inviting guests to relax, recharge, and enjoy a refreshing swim in a peaceful setting. Whether you are in Jakarta for business or leisure, JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta offers more than a room. Its renovated suites, varied dining and generous spa make it a sophisticated base in the city.
