Bak Kut Teh Of The Year: Feng Xiang

It is with great pleasure to share that Feng Xiang has been voted Bak Kut Teh Of The Year after the team at Savour BlackBookAsia Magazine went for a special dining experience with Feng Xiang Bak Kut Teh’s newly launched Frog Leg Series. Feng Xiang is a local F&B company started in May 2021 by its Malaysian-born founders who were craving for a taste of home at the time when borders between Singapore and Malaysia were closed. Their signature dishes are Klang-style herbal Bak Kut Teh (soup/dry) and Fried Porridge. They currently have 4 outlets, located in Beauty World Centre, Tai Seng, Vivocity and Seng Kang.

Frog Legs are said to taste like a cross between fish and chicken. In some countries like France, it is even considered to be a delicacy. It is also popular in Chinese-style cuisine with many different ways to cook it. The team at Feng Xiang is keen to introduce this uncommon produce to the local food community at an affordable price. They have prepared 4 unique dishes revolving around Frog Legs.

The Dishes are:
Frog Legs Fried Porridge: A twist to their popular fried porridge, with the addition of frog legs instead of your usual pork or fish. Stir-Fry Frog Legs: Frog legs stir fried with herbs and spices until the meat is tender and succulent bursting with flavour. Fried Frog Legs: If you fancy a crispier, crunchier version of frog legs, this is the dish for you. Herbal Steamed Frog Legs: A healthier, milder version steamed with nourishing herbs.

The Herbal Steamed Frog Legs combine frog legs with herbs such as ‘Dang Gui’ (Female Ginseng), known for enriching blood circulation. It is steamed until the meat becomes tender while absorbing all the goodness of the herbs. Perfect for someone looking for a light and nutritious meal. (only available at VivoCity outlet) Frog Legs Fried Porridge is a pairing of Feng Xiang’s special fried porridge with tender, juicy frog legs.
