The arrival of 3 Michelin Starred T’ang Court Hong Kong To The Langham Jakarta

The newly established T’ang Court in The Langham, Jakarta is perhaps one of the best places to indulge in the iconic Cantonese fare that they are famous for. Setting a new standard for gastronomic opulence, this is one of those restaurants that intersects culture and cuisine, thereby creating a dining experience like no other.

This exclusive culinary haven is adorned with incredibly ornate and beautiful artwork alongside quaint oriental décor that really help set the tone of the place. The seamless use of blue furnishings and marble throughout the entire place cleverly pays homage to the fact that blue and green were associated with luxury and grandeur during the Tang Dynasty many years ago.

Aside from the dining area that is split between the East and West Halls, they also have multiple private rooms that are recessed past the main seating floor. Each space can accommodate between five to eight patrons at a time, and are either enclosed for better privacy or feature floor-to-ceiling windows that showcases the city skyline.

And if a larger place is required, they have a dining suite with two tables that can sit up to ten people each – making it the perfect choice for exclusive functions or massive Lunar New Year celebrations with extended family.

When it comes to the food, guests can expect to enjoy traditional Southern Chinese delicacies that have been elevated with exquisite ingredients and artistic plating. The Steam Fresh Crab Claw is cooked to perfection, making it immensely soft and juicy when eaten. Its further enhanced by the sweetness of the Egg Custard and the umami taste from the Caviar that comes with the dish.

No visit to T’ang Court is complete without having their Signature Peking Duck. What makes it unique is that the tender meat is surgically sliced and placed on to a pancake made from flour and egg. It is then slathered in a savoury sauce, garnished with cucumber, and wrapped before laying the top with the incredibly crisp skin of the Roast Duck. The secret to this particular offering is that the duck is marinated and dry aged for two weeks, which allows them to extract the best flavours to deliver the best results.

The Pan-Fried Short Ribs is another one that cannot be missed, with its succulent and well-seasoned protein coated in a mouth-watering Honey Glaze that adds a dash of sweetness to it. The Deep-Fried King Prawns on the other hand has a crunchy exterior and a cushy interior that is complimented by the creamy Salted Egg and Passion Fruit Dressing.

The Bean-curd Roll with Assorted Mushrooms give off a satisfying mouthfeel that is both chewy and delectable, while the vegetables underneath that are soaked in Truffle sauce provides an earthy sensation on the palette that is coupled with tang from the mushrooms. For drinks, guests have a wide variety to select from, whether its from their signature lineup of teas like the Gaoshan Yun Wu or the distinct Pu’Er Pandan Aroma that is brewed specifically for this branch. There are also mocktails, like the Hibiscus Rose and the Lychee Mint Oolong, that present a fruity impression on the palette.
