Feel at home with the one of the most-liked restaurant in Bangkok, the award winning Suhring, serving one of a kind gastronomic degustation best describe as refined German cuisine. Led by the famous twin chefs Thomas and Mathias, this valuable gem is hidden in the suburb of Bangkok surrounded by lush gardens. Alluring décor coupled with comfortable seating at various dining areas, guests are in for a distinctive dining experience unlike any other, especially when dining at the chef’s table for a more interactive and first-hand view of the activities in the kitchen. For first timers, Suhring offers a tweleve-course menu with some of its most popular dishes for ease of order.
Try their piquant appetizer, Fischbrotchen, pickled sardine layered with sea-salt mayonnaise and a tomato sandwiched using homemade bun. A very pleasant and interesting combination.
Highly-suggested entrée would be Frankfurter Grune Sobe, smoked eel mousse covered with thinly sliced smoked fresh water eel imported from Germany alongside a potato salad placed under a deliciously thick mousse made from seasonal herbs and finish with edible flowers. A well plated course oozing X factor for sure.
The most outstanding dish from the entire menu has got to be the handmade German-style “Spatzle” egg noodle cooked with mountain cheese and anis mushroom, drizzled over with spring onion oil and topped with generous amount of freshly shaven French autumn truffle. Best eaten with the crispy fried onion provided for that mix of aromatic textures.
Another incredible creation would be the Sauerbraten, a sour-roasted tender wagyu beef dipped in aromatic beef jus, served with carrots, grilled leek and bread dumplings. The beef is well marinated in red wine and red wine vinegar before being slow-cooked for 12 hours to bring out bold flavours which goes nicely with the side of sour cream and red wine vinegar sauce.
An adventurous dessert but absolutely worth a try is the Buttermilk Gin and Tonic, buttermilk base with gin marinated cucumber and dollop of tonic sorbet.
There is also an option for wine pairing to further enhance your dining experience with an wide selection of organic, biodynamic and natural wines that has been specially chosen to complement the cuisine.
