Journey Through India (Non Vegetarian) is an excellent choice that starts off with amuse bouche which changes depending on the freshest ingredients at the time of cooking followed by Tempered Chicken & Almond Soup that comes with a side of spiced croutons, chopped peppers and tomato. This hearty soup is made lovingly with nutty almond paste, flavourful chicken stock and Indian herbs for added aromatics.
Mustard Enhanced Smoked Salmon & Tandoori Chicken is simply delicious served with a spoon filled with tomato mustard salsa and plated beautifully with edible flowers. The spices used in this dish further enhanced the fish and meat without overpowering, making a delectably well balanced course. Lime cumin sorbet with a drop of truffle oil is served before mains to cleanse the palate in the most delightful way.
The Art Platter has refined tasting portions of many dishes from different parts of India like coastal prawn curry from the Malabar Coast, Bhuna Lamb Ghosht from Hyderabad among many others. Inspiration for this dish is like the painter’s masterpiece on a plate, accompanied with Hot Tandoori Nann Bread Basket (truffle mushroom, garlic and sesame saffron naan), Saffron Basmati Rice and Yoghurt Relish.
All sweet endings should be with Alphonso Mango Kulfi & Gulab Jamun, mango ice cream and traditional sweet ball dessert. The home made ice cream consist of milk, chop dried nuts such as almond, cashew and pistachios with cardamom and Alphonso mango purée that not only taste good but also helps in digestion. Masala tea is a good choice to go with the desserts, made with milk, tea powder, cardamom and ginger.
A wine list with a range of choices is available in both bottle or glass formats. A good choice to go with Indian food in general is Shiraz and the Victoria Park label from South Australia is a perfect selection, intense on the nose, medium to full bodied with a wonderful long finish. A selection of non alcoholic beverages can also be ordered ranging from sodas to juices plus coffee and tea. Service here is top notch.
