The much loved flagship restaurant has officially opened at TANGS, Tang Plaza, after bidding farewell to the beloved Katong outlet, where Sinpopo roots were first put down. The beautiful new space is the perfect respite for shoppers looking for refined modern Singaporean cuisine in a contemporary, warm and inviting setting. Spanning 3 dining areas, expect new menu offerings, along with timeless Sinpopo Katong classics, all served up with a touch of luxury and sophistication.

We like to start with the desserts here because it’s simply irresistible. The Kueh Platter for sharing is something to enjoy over great conversations. Kueh Dar Dar so Peranakan and so delicious, Ondeh Ondeh another Straits Born Chinese favourite is a must have and Bingka Ubi completes this wonderful selection. The Sotong Hitam is made from perfectly grilled squid in it’s own ink and a special rempah made from a secret recipe. Ideal with fragrant Jasmine white rice.

The tantalising Auntie Mei’s Salted Vegetable Duck Soup is a lovingly brewed consomme of salted vegetable and duck topped with confit duck. So good you will enjoy every spoonful to the last drop. Curry Crayfish is another winner, where the seafood is grilled on open fire and served with a mouth-watering lemak gravy. The super crispy and thin okura or also known as lady fingers on the top, adds a nice texture to the dish.

A must have in any meal is the Smoky Savoy Cabbage that has been braised, grilled (with a nice char at parts) and served in superior stock that has been made over many hours with black fungus and fish maw. Last but not least is the Satay Ayam, probably the largest chicken skewers we have eaten, again carefully grilled to a point where the meat is still tender. Served with peanut sauce and onions, pineapples and cucumber.
