“Ola” which translates to “Life” in Hawaiian is a uniquely themed restaurant for those who want a snippet of Hawaii without having to actually fly there. Not only can diners savour amazing Hawaiian-style dishes, the spot is an ideal setting to enjoy a relaxing getaway within the shores of Singapore.
Conveniently perched by the sea in Sentosa, the décor and greenery gives a rustic yet chic atmosphere, replicating the feel of Hawaii. The ground floor has daybeds lined across the beach, six private cabanas and swings by the bar, while the second floor houses another bar and a beach-themed event hall which can hold up to 200 people. Diners looking to lounge by the bar on the first floor will get an uninterrupted view of the waters while resident DJ, J. Alexander, spins his chart-topping records from dusk to dawn.
For a classic Hawaiian dish, the Ahi Poke, which consists of diced fresh tuna marinated with soy sauce, sesame seeds and chili, for additional heat. Ola also offers diners the ability to customize their very own Ahi bowl, first choosing their base of either Jasmine Rice, Brown Rice or Salad, sauce of Kimichi, Shoyu, Togarashi and 2 sides from the list of Ebiko, Pineapple, Guacamole, Kimichi, Pumpkin Seeds and Prawn Roe. Another must-have is the Loco Moco, the medium-rare wagyu beef patty on Japanese Kelp rice is topped with panko-crusted egg dish. A true surfer’s dish, it boasts fluffy umami rice, tender beef and a runny egg. For an added luxury, there is the option of adding the pan-seared foie gras.
Other recommendations include the Kalua Pig Taco, Artichoke salad and the Kua Aina Burger, a generously portioned dish great for sharing.
Sticking to the Hawaiian theme, Ola is proud to present Tiki inspired cocktails, a true pioneer in Singapore. A large selection of cocktails is available such as the Uliuli Tiki, a mixture of Blue Curacao liqueur, homemade vanilla passion fruit puree, and sweet meringue.
ACTIVITIES
Apart from its bar and restaurant, Ola also offers water sport activities. The excitement includes water-propelled jet packs that enable goers to propel in the air of up to a speed of 40km/h, stand-up paddle boarding, banana boat and donut riding.
Numerous kid friendly facilities include baby changing station and a large family bathroom with shower. Not to mention the children’s’ menu and a separate dining section set up with kid-friendly furniture. This shows Ola’s emphasis on creating a family-centric location, mention of a nursery room is in the progress too. A great place for thrill seekers, travelers, families or a romantic getaway.
