Nestled away in the rustic charm of Ubud, Mandapa, A Ritz Carlton Reserve simply transports you into an unbelievable world the moment you enter its front gates. The experience starts even before you access the Reserve, with a rather mysterious and secluded driveway bereft of any hotel signage. Upon arrival at the lobby, guests are received with warm Balinese hospitality with the offering of Jepun flowers and a refreshing local welcome drink Loloh, concocted with a mixture of local leaves. Once entered, guests are greeted with a truly breathtaking top-down view of lush vegetation surrounding the villas and suites with the rice terraces outlined by Ayung River.

Each guest is then assigned a personal butler, commonly called a Patih which translates to “the right hand of the king” in Balinese. The Patihs, tend to every need of the guest from the transport around the vast resort in buggies to assisting with the planning of the itineraries during the stay with the utmost professionalism.

Rooms

Mandapa offers a healthy selection of 35 suites and 25 private pool villas within the vicinity. The suites come with a large living room space and private patio, great for a spacious private abode for two with sizes ranging from 100 to 145 square metres. For larger groups, the villas are a perfect option, guests can select from either a one, two or three bedrooms with the view differing from the pool, rice terrace or river front.

The one-bedroom river front villa provides a great experience, a comfortable size of 430 square metres with a private pool, separate living room space, spacious bedroom, toilet, outdoor shower and walk-in wardrobe located right at the side of the serene riverbank. The resort and rooms are beautifully designed by renowned interior designer, Jeffrey Wilkes and illuminates a sense of relaxation and luxury with the use of traditional Balinese architecture paired with modern contemporary design.

Dining

For a more casual option, guests can head to the Sawah Terrace, the all-day dining restaurant is located just by the main pool overlooking the beautiful rice paddies and tropical forest. During breakfast, guests have the option of choosing from the in-room dining ala carte menu or the hearty buffet selection. Lunch and dinner menus are also available, offering meals highlighting Balinese cuisine with ingredients taken directly from the resort farm, providing guests with the ultimate farm to table experience.

For a perfect dinner date, there is the award-winning Mediterranean-European restaurant, Kubu, located just by the Ayung river Mediterranean-European cuisine. A truly intimate and unique experience, guests can dine in one of 9 private cocoons overlooking the river while being served exquisite dishes from the 8 course degustation menu.

Spa

The Mandapa Spa offers an extensive menu of traditional Balinese and modern treatments to meet the needs of each individual guest. The practitioners are friendly and accommodating, with their ability to pin point areas which need special attention, this leaves you truly relaxed and energized at the end of the session. Each room faces the Ayung river, therefore with the additional detail of the river sounds it will leave you in a constant therapeutic state of mind.

The vitality pool, located on the second floor is another great option, guests can unwind at the hot pool while overlooking the padi fields and let the power jets give you an uplifting water massage.
