La Petite Boulangerie

Following the opening of La Petite Boulangerie, the boulangerie corner by homegrown online furniture brand My Selection, the team at Savour BlackBookAsia Magazine was invited for a tasting of the Merveilleux (pronounced “mair-vè-y-eu”), a traditional French and Belgian dessert, exclusively available at the new boulangerie.

My Selection

La Petite Boulangerie serves up classic French pastries with a unique local twist. It is also the first in Singapore to introduce the Merveilleux, previously found only in France, Belgium, New York and some European cities – until now. *Savour BlackBookAsia Magazine recommended Hazelnut Praline, a sublime mix of meringue and praline whipped cream, coated with caramelised almonds and hazelnuts, sensational! Not to be outdone is the Valrhona Cocolate, same meringue, this time with Valrhona chocolate whipped cream coated with shavings from the same internationally acclaimed chocolate brand.

Merveilleux

The sweet treats at La Petite Boulangerie offer customers a classic French experience with its traditional flavours, while also keeping local palettes in mind with specially-created Singaporean twists. La Petite Boulangerie is helmed by pastry chef Celeste Teh, who had trained under Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF) Chef Jean Francois Arnaud, one of France’s most reputable pâtissiers, and mastered his recipe of the Merveilleux. A modest looking chef who would rather let her pastries do the talking and they sure do…boldly so!

La Petite Boulangerie

It brings the team at Savour BlackBookAsia magazine much joy to announced that La Petite Boulangerie has been shortlisted to be in the running for our Hidden Gem 2022 (F&B award). Stay tuned for the results come year end.
