Having renovated in 2009, the 15 chalets on the property are built with wooden architecture and the interior mirrors the warm cosiness of a mountainside abode. Each of the chalets attempt to create a home away from home with amenities such as modern kitchens, laundry facilities, in-floor heating and complimentary Wi-Fi access in all rooms.
There are a number of specialised chalets such as the Phoenix Cocoon which features a drive in garage and a free mountain shuttle service. The rustic Maki Cottage features a beautiful log fireplace and is perfect for families of up to 8 people. The largest at Hakuba Phoenix chalets is Phoenix One, a 3-storey luxury chalet which can accommodate up to 10 guests, and has 4 bathrooms and a gym and sauna within the house. The kitchen of Phoenix One comes with a fully-stocked Nespresso machine, Miele ovens and dishwasher.
Dining
For dining options, Mimi’s Restaurant and Bar is the property’s European restaurant which emphasises on the best local produce. Led by executive chef Kazuyuki Shimamoto, the restaurant serves contemporary European cuisine which is paired with their signature cocktails and wines from their extensive international beverage list. Guests may also opt to take up the chalet’s Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Making Class where they will be led by world-class certified Sushi Chef Nakazato to prepare authentic Japanese sushi for lunch.
Marillen Slope-Side Restaurant/Bar serves a hearty a la carte menu, good for guests who have had their day’s workout at the slopes. Recommended dish is the Cheese Fondue served with bread and potatoes perfect for dining in cold weather. Sharaku is simply world class where diners can get some of the best sushi and sashimi in Hakuba. Using only the freshest produce as well as local ingredients to mesmerise diners with a delectable array of Japanese dishes.
Located just minutes away from the powdery ski slopes of Happosan mountain, guests may sign up with the hotel for ski lessons and experiences with the numerous schools in the area. Most of the schools are able to accommodate for a large variety of age groups including children as young as 5 years old. There are also ski rentals available for the more adventurous to tackle the slopes alone.
