Opened by world renown Australian chef, Luke Magnan, Salt Grill introduces diners to the world of fine-dining Australian cuisine. Located at Altitude atop Plaza Indonesia alongside fellow Oso Group Restaurants, GAIA and Enamaru, the venue offers breathtaking views of the scenic Jakarta skyline from the 46thfloor. The interiors are sleek and elegant surrounded by panoramic glass windows all-around the restaurant with beautiful fixtures and artworks, engulfing diners in true sky high dining with scrumptious food and spectacular views.
The Salt Grill menu combines the very best of local Indonesian ingredients with that of the freshest Australian produce. Dishes such as the exceptionally fresh Kingfish Sashimi served with Persian feta, ginger and shallot dressing showcases just that, the addition of feta cheese compliments the dish extremely well. An interesting item is the free range egg omelette of snow crab with enoki mushrooms, herb salad and miso mustard broth. The dish may look like your ordinary breakfast meal but is so much more than that, with the first bite, the soft and perfectly cooked egg cooked with snow crab is wonderful on the palate, the saltiness of the dashi infused miso is splendid when paired together with the egg. For vegetarians, the carrot and ricotta ravioli with currants, Persian feta and burnt sage butter is great, the sweetness of the ravioli works amazingly with the saltiness of the burnt sage butter, melted into an interesting oil form.
For a genuinely Australian dessert, the licorice and lime bombe Alaska, served with licorice jelly, sago and lime syrup is a tremendous mix of sweet and sour, it’s a perfect way to satisfy diners at the very end of an extraordinary meal.
