Bistro Baron

Located on the ground floor of the glamourous Plaza Indonesia mall in Jakarta is the casual French diner, Bistro Baron. Terrine De Foie Gras with homemade fig chutney and roasted rustic bread

The Terrine De Foie Gras, marinated with Brandy and served with homemade Fig Chutney and roasted rustic bread, is a must-have to start the meal. The Foie Gras is extremely rich and buttery, perfectly paired with the crispy homemade bread and sweet Fig Chutney. To add another dimension to the dish, add a pinch of salt and pepper and the concoction of flavours will simply leave you wanting more. Another of their favourites is the Soupe a L’oignon, the homemade onion soup is served topped with Gruyere cheese and gratinated toast, a true classic French dish. The saltiness of the onion soup with soft melted cheese and bread creates a blend of sheer mouthwatering decadence. For the main, the Confit de Canard is great, the duck leg confit is wonderfully served with stag potato French beans and a red wine reduction sauce.

Tarte Aux Pommes

To end of the meal, the Tarte Aux Pommes is unmistakable, the caramelized apple is baked on fluffy puff pastry and topped off with vanilla ice cream sprinkled with pistachios and almonds for an added crunch. The apples are thinly sliced to precision and placed in between the puff pastry along with blueberry compote, a simply indulgent dessert. The cocktails at Bistro Baron, are definitely a sight to behold, not only do they look amazing but taste immense too. The must-try items are the Bon Marche, the very first in Indonesia to coat the entire glass in caramel powder. The Baron de Coco, served in a beautiful pineapple cup and the very fun and delightful, Carnavale.
