 As the suggests, ALBA 1836 Wine Bar & Restaurant sources their famous white truffles directly from Alba in Piedmonte. Demand for the so called “Diamonds of the Kitchen” far outstrips the supply, but as ALBA 1836’s has cultivated an excellent relationship with trustworthy local truffle experts. This ensures that only the finest White truffles are imported and served at the restaurant. For White Truffle lovers, the season runs from October to December and can be savoured through a White Truffle Degustation Menu specially prepared by Chef de Cuisine, Luca Piras. Apart from that, the restaurant also offers a vast variety of wines by the glass, including well-known Italian labels and unique boutique wineries ensuring a perfect glass of wine for each and every one.

Slow cooked egg with shaved Black Truffle on parmesan fondue

For starters, the Beef Tartare Piedmonte Style with Burrata and Onion Marmalade is incredibly light and seasoned amazingly, it is complimented well with the fresh Burrata, indeed a perfect way to start any meal. Another impeccable dish is the slow cooked egg, done so for forty minutes, with shaved Black Truffle on parmesan Fondue, paired harmoniously with the egg, diners can expect a mouthful of creaminess with every spoonful and a lovely mixture of saltiness from the fresh black truffle.

Homemade fresh spinach and parmesan tortellini on butter and sage

Moving on to the mains, the Homemade fresh spinach and Parmesan Tortellini on butter and sage topped with toasted almonds, for an addition crunch, is splendidly plated. The tortellini is al dente and has a truly amazing texture, coupled magnificently with the freshly prepared spinach and sauce delightfully poured around it. For seafood lovers, the Grilled Mediterranean Seabass served with chickpea puree, asparagus, Taggiasche olives and Sicilian capers sauce is a must-have, the fish is extremely fresh and crispy skin seared excellently with the addition of the Sicilian sauce, gives an authentic taste of Italy.
 To end the meal in a truly Italian manner, for dessert, the Vanilla gelato served on Caramel Sauce, mixed berries and crispy biscuit will satisfy any sweet tooth’s cravings.
